LACO: A Latency-Driven Network Slicing Orchestration in Beyond-5G Networks

Network Slicing is expected to become a game changer in the upcoming 5G networks and beyond, enlarging telecom business ecosystem through still-unexplored vertical industry profits. This implies that heterogeneous service level agreements (SLAs) must be guaranteed per slice given multitude of predefined requirements. In this paper, we pioneer novel radio slicing orchestration solution simultaneously provides latency throughput guarantees multi-tenancy environment. Leveraging on solid mathematical framework, exploit exploration-vs-exploitation paradigm by means multi-armed-bandit-based (MAB) orchestrator, LACO, makes adaptive resource decisions with no prior knowledge traffic demand or channel quality statistics. As opposed traditional MAB methods are blind underlying system, LACO relies system structure information expedite decisions. After preliminary simulations campaign empirically proving validness our solution, provide robust implementation using off-the-shelf equipment fully emulate realistic network conditions: near-optimal results within affordable computational time measured when place.
